Storage Ruxley Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Ruxley in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or in any of our supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Ruxley maintains a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not accept any form of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour, servitude, or exploitation. This applies to all aspects of our activities, whether carried out directly by us or on our behalf by third parties. We expect the same commitment from all those we work with, including suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
All relationships with suppliers and partners are based on lawful, ethical, and transparent practices. Breach of this policy will be treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of contracts or other appropriate actions.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Ruxley provides storage and related services. While the nature of our operations is not typically associated with high incidences of modern slavery, we recognise that risks can arise in any supply chain. These risks may be present in areas such as construction, maintenance, cleaning, security, and the sourcing of goods and materials used in our facilities.
We are committed to understanding these risks and taking proportionate steps to identify, prevent, and mitigate any potential or actual instances of modern slavery linked to our business.
Supplier Standards and Audit Processes
We require our suppliers and contractors to operate in compliance with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws and to uphold standards consistent with our values. As part of our due diligence process, we assess new suppliers based on their ethical practices, including their approach to preventing modern slavery.
Storage Ruxley is developing and implementing a structured programme of supplier audits and reviews. These may include questionnaires, requests for policy documents, self-assessments, and, where appropriate, site visits or independent assessments. Our aim is to verify that suppliers have appropriate policies, training, and controls in place to combat modern slavery.
Where concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to address them promptly. If issues cannot be resolved to our satisfaction, we will consider ending the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Storage Ruxley encourages a culture of openness and accountability. Employees, workers, contractors, and any other stakeholders are encouraged to raise concerns about any suspected instances of modern slavery or unethical behaviour connected to our business or supply chains.
Concerns can be reported through established internal reporting channels or directly to senior management. Reports can be made confidentially, and individuals raising concerns in good faith will not suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment. All concerns raised will be reviewed and, where appropriate, investigated, with suitable action taken based on the findings.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that awareness and understanding are essential to preventing modern slavery. Storage Ruxley is committed to providing appropriate training and guidance to relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and facilities operations. Training covers how to recognise signs of modern slavery, how to assess risk, and how to report concerns.
Monitoring, Annual Review, and Continuous Improvement
Storage Ruxley is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to identifying and addressing modern slavery risks. We will monitor the effectiveness of our policies and procedures through regular internal reviews, supplier feedback, and the outcomes of audits and investigations.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure it remains up to date, effective, and aligned with evolving legal requirements and best practice. Where necessary, we will update our processes, training, and supplier requirements to strengthen our controls and further reduce the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the management of Storage Ruxley and represents our ongoing commitment to ethical conduct and the protection of human rights throughout our business activities.
